Diamonds bring Naomi Campbell to war crimes tribunal

British supermodel Naomi Campbell has given testimony at the trial of former Liberian President Charles Taylor in The Hague. She’s alleged to have received diamonds from Taylor after a dinner hosted by Nelson Mandela in 1997. Campbell admitted to receiving what she described as a few ‘dirty-looking’ stones, which she later gave to charity. Taylor’s accused of selling diamonds to finance a civil war in Sierra Leone. He denies the charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
