Kristen Stewart has officially signed on to play Butterfly in K-11, which is both written and to be directed by her mom Jules Mann-Stewart. Her co-star will be none other than her real-life bff and Twilight Saga co-star Nikki Reed. Also rumored to have joined the cast is famed actor Kevin Smith. From what we’ve heard, the project is in the early stages of development at this point. According to an interview Nikki Reed did about a year ago, the phrase K-11 refers to a place in prison where inmates are placed if it’s thought they wouldn’t survive with the general population. Reed said that she’ll play someone who was born a man but has since become a woman – someone who in Nikki’s words “never felt like a man…and was born with the wrong body parts.” According the same article with Nikki’s interview, the movie was supposed to shoot during a break between New Moon and Eclipse, but as far as we know shooting has not yet begun.
